Netherlands will be advancing on to the 2010 World Cup Quarter Finals after a close match with Slovakia. Netherlands will be playing either Brazil or Chile in the Quarter Finals. Germany and England faced off in the Round of 16 elimination match of the 2010 World Cup. Showing no mercy on England, Germany finished the match victorious with a score of 4-1. Germany will be advancing to the Quarter Finals where they will be up against the much vaunted Argentina who defeated Mexico 3-1 to clench their spot in the Quarter Finals. Germany knocked Argentina out of the 2006 World Cup in the Quarter Finals so Argentina will be out for revenge.

The US left their Round of 16 match with Ghana disappointed. Ending in a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time, the match went into thirty minutes of overtime where Ghana put one in the back of the net and clenched a spot in the 2010 World Cup Quarter Finals. This is the second time that Ghana has eliminated the US from the World Cup. Unlike all of their previous matches, the US was not able to make a comeback from behind.
